Stand in Awe

About 25 years ago, as I have said before, my dear friend Chris came back from several months’ working in Australia, and he brought back with him a whole bunch of great new songs from Christian City Church, Sydney, where he and his family had been worshipping while they were out there. One of the best ones, for me, was ‘Stand in Awe’; a real belter of a song with great lyrics, dynamics and a simple but haunting chord structure. Here we go: Stand in Awe by Phil Pringle, led by Christine Pringle and recorded live at Christian City Church, Sydney, Australia:

Stand in awe before Me
Careful to bring the glory to God
Stretching forth holy hands
Bowing down in reverence to God
Place your feet in my sanctuary
Lift your voice to the skies!

Glory to the Lamb of God
Glory to the Lamb of God
Glory to the Lamb of God
Sing anthems of praise!
Sing anthems of praise!

– Phil Pringle, 1990

  1. Gloreeeeey!!! I have looked for this song for years. Heard the tape about 18 years ago. Wasn’t sure of the singer . Thank you so much.

  2. I have and love this album. my favourite songs are ‘stand in awe’ and ‘great is the lord’, ‘all honour’ is also amazing…unfortunately I only have it on cassette and cannot find any of this on YouTube or Spotify. there is lots from CCC but they are other people’s music like Chris Tomlin etc is there a chance I may upload the album in its entirety to YouTube or even better that çcc would put the playlist on Spotify for the whole world to enjoy?this music is timeless and Phil had an unmatched talent and a beautiful way of using scripture to create.almost 35 years later I still play this album regularly but I miss playing it in my car as I have a Bluetooth player now(had a cassette player until April this year).I have the capability to convert tape to digital but do not want to break any copyright laws. Any help would be much appreciated.
